December Drill The December Drill is called the 5X5 drill. For this drill, fire 5 rounds at a 5 inch circle from 5 yards in 5 seconds or less. Sounds very easy, but do it 5 times in a row (total of 25 rounds) and see if you can do it without dropping any rounds! Printable Target Check out the link below for more details. Try it this month and let the group know how it went. If you can’t get out to the range, set this up in your living room and dry fire it! Whatever you do, make sure you are making the time to get out and train! 5 x 5 Shooting Drill

June 2025

Constables,

For the June meeting we plan to honor long time Constable and Association member, Jimmy Thomas. Constable Thomas served the community and our Association for many years not only in his LE duties but also as our chaplain. He will be present at the meeting.

Afterwards, there are a few other things I would like to go over as time allows.

New Constables:

I would like to formally welcome and congratulate South Carolina’s newest State Constables. Constable Mack Dodson, Constable Scott Hovis, Constable Tom Gilkeson, Constable Darren Halgas, and Constable Trey Fowler all recently passed their basic Constable exam and became credentialed. Everyone in the class passed which is exciting to hear. Some of these guys have been in the pipeline a VERY long time and their endurance in the face of setbacks and institutional frustrations has been inspiring. A solid batch of guys from everything I have heard. For you new guys, the August meeting may be especially interesting as we will have an instructor going over gear/equipment selection and setup for efficiency. Even experienced guys will benefit from getting some ideas on how to tweak and improve their setups.

July Reminder:

Informational reminder for everyone but especially the new guys. NO MEETING for the month of July. Every year we take off July and December from Association meetings.

BMW Pro Am Tournament:

Thank you to everyone who helped with the BMW Pro-Am this year. Our guys performed well and looked great! I personally received many good reports on our service over the weekend. The hours are long and it can get hot out there but I didn’t hear any of our guys complain. Your hard work earned us $15,000. This check, along with the money from the gun shows will allow us to continue to seek out high quality training opportunities for the Association over the next year. As always, this is YOUR money. If you have specific training you would like to see, let us know and we will work on it.

I hope to see all of you on Monday, June 16th at our monthly meeting.

Stay safe but dangerous,

Kyle Price
