  1. Contact our Recruiter to get you questions and concerns answered.
  2. Apply using the appropriate Application.
  3. Send in your Application, SLED will conduct a background check
  4. Once Cleared by SLED you will be eligible to attend the Basic Constable Course at a Techical College.


Greenville Technical College is our latest College to Provide Us Basic and Advanced Constable Training.  We are looking forward to our Partnership that we recently forged to provide more Opportunites for Becoming a Constable and Advancing.

Constable Groups

There are 4 Groups of State Constables

  1. Group I - State Constables for Government Entities are employed by government agencies and have a job related need for law enforcement authority.
  2. Group II - Retired Police Officers constables consist of those individuals who have served as sworn law enforcement officers in the State of South Carolina and honorably retired in that capacity.
  3. Group III - State Constable Auxiliary provide auxiliary law enforcement assistance services to local law enforcement agencies in a voluntary capacity.
  4. Group III - Advanced State Constable Auxiliary confers additional authority and responsibilities than that of a Group III State Constable.
