Firearms Training After Action Report

Constables,
Thanks to everyone who came out and made our February live fire event a success! We had a great turn out, the association handed out 2,000 rounds of 9mm, and I saw noted improvement in those who attended by the end of the day. Don’t lose momentum after a big event like this! Work on your dry fire every week and try to get to the range once a month! I always include a “drill of the month” at the bottom of these emails to give you ideas of different things to try. If you ever need help with ideas of what to do or where to go to train, please reach out to Scott Moore, Doug Pursley, Steve Cassell, or myself and we will be happy to point you in the right direction and help as much as we can. I plan to try to fit in one more live fire event this year in the fall/winter (this will be the first year we attempt two) so I would love to hear your feedback. Do you guys enjoy these events? Anything else you would like to see? Your feedback is valued. Train hard, shoot straight, and stay safe.
Firearms Qualification:
We have two Constable Firearms Qualification dates on the schedule. Please plan to make it to one or the other of these if you are not qualifying with your agency in 2025.
- Chief Powers of SCC will be holding a firearms qualification for our Association members on April 17th at 10AM. This is open to all constables. This qualification will take place at the GSP range. Please RSVP to Constable Kosco at koscod@sccsc.edu if you want to attend or if you have any questions.
- GCSO will be holding a firearms qualification for us on June 7th at 8AM. This is open to all constables. This qualification will take place at the Advanced Training Center located at 150 Thurston Rd Taylors, SC 29687. Bring 50 rounds of ammo and $25. RSVP to our Director of Training, Scott Moore at smoore@upstatescconstables.org if you want to attend or if you have any questions.
I hope to see all of you on Monday, March 17th at our monthly meeting.
Stay safe but dangerous,
Kyle Price
